From cluttered den to calm living room

The idea

A typical carpeted family room reimagined with warm limewash walls, wide-plank oak floors and a pared-back furniture plan that makes the room feel twice as open.

What changed

• Carpet replaced with wide-plank white oak
• Limewash walls and a concealed cove light
• Curved boucle sofa sized to the wall
• Media storage consolidated into one walnut console
• Linen roman shade softens daylight
